Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Thursday that Iran is being “decimated” and it is unclear who is in charge. The Islamic Republic kept up attacks on Gulf oil and gas targets that have jolted worldwide markets.

Energy costs soared, and stocks sank as Iran attacked numerous Gulf energy services and warned of more in reprisal for a strike on one of its oil and gas fields. Brent crude soared past $115 per barrel as Tehran threatened to target regional installations after an Israeli hit on a site serving its huge South Pars field, which it shares with Qatar. Fears over worldwide energy supplies sent European gas costs up more than 30%; however, Brent crude jumped 7%.

A ship burnt off the shoreline of the United Arab Emirates and another was damaged off Qatar, underscoring the ever-present danger facing vessels due to Iran’s strong hold on the Strait of Hormuz crisis 2026.

Iran’s military transformed threats on Thursday to wipe out the region’s energy infrastructure were its services would be attacked again during the U.S.-Israel war with the Islamic Republic. However, the Iranian lawmakers have planned a plan to enforce tolls and taxes on ships passing through the planned Strait of Hormuz, local media reported on Thursday.

As per the Middle East war latest news, U.S. President Donald Trump threatened to wipe out Iran’s key South Pars gas field if there were additional attacks against Qatar’s major gas plant. He confirmed that Israel had struck the South Pars field but supposed the U.S. “knew nothing” of the attack, which spurred Iran to commence an attack on Qatar’s Ras Laffan facility.
